What is Echo Spot?

Amazon’s new Echo Spot is a smart alarm clock that has multiple features. With the Amazon Echo Spot device, you can make video calls. It seems to be a hybrid device of Echo Dot and Echo Show that has a 2.5-inch screen with a curved edge. There are two color options: black and white.

Audio Built-in speaker: 3.5 mm stereo audio output for use with external speaker (audio cable not included).
Accessibility Features:  On Echo devices with screens, you can enable Alexa captioning and closed captioning, magnify the screen, toggle color inversion, and choose between color correction options. You can also enable the VoiceView screen reader to use gestures to navigate the screen and hear spoken feedback about the items you select.

Amazon Echo Spot is a multi-purpose device, allowing you to perform a variety of different tasks. Echo Spot can connect to Alexa, a cloud-based voice service, and play music, give news updates, answer questions, set up alarms, control smart home devices, browse through to-do lists and shopping lists, etc. You can also see music lyrics, browse through your calendars, see video flash briefings of news and download and listen to audiobooks. Thus, it houses many of the features of Alexa in a compact, stylish design. 

This device features four microphones with far-field technology and superior noise cancellation, allowing for you to communicate with the device from across the room, even while the music is playing.

With Amazon Echo Spot, you can also control your smart home. You can use it to monitor your front door or the nursery as it gives live camera feed. You can also make hands-free voice calls and video calls to friends and family who have an Amazon Echo Spot, Echo Show, or the Alexa App. You can also use it to broadcast messages to all other Echo devices. 

Amazon Echo Spot also has many skills, much like apps that perform many functions e.g. you can test your knowledge with Jeopardy, track your fitness with Fitbit, play games, find your inner Zen with Headspace.
