Netflix has in the past tasted good success with slice of life
series and movies. Similarly, the streaming service is also known for trying
its hands on doing something different.
The streaming giant has
commissioned two romantic Netflix
series, which will be made into 10 episode
series. Virgin River will be based on Robynn Carr’s book series by the same
name, and Sweet Mangolias based on Sherryl Woods’s book series.
Virgin River revolves around the character of Melinda Monroe, who
settles down in the town of Virgin River to leave behind her painful past. The
show will be executively produced by Sue Tenner, who is also the showrunner for
the series. The book series consists of 20 books.
Sweet Mangolias based on Sherryl Woods’ book series, focusses on
three women of South Carolina, also high school best friends. Sheryl Anderson
will be the executives producer and will also be the showrunner of the series.
Besides Sheryl, Dan Paulson is also part of the series as an executive
producer.
